It has a beautiful large conservatory area - it is light and sunny and is able to be used by residents and their families it's a great place for celebrations and activities.
Resthaven’s grounds are more spacious that they appear from the road. And the design of the home incorporates a number of sheltered courtyard areas, many with raised gardens surrounded by seating, onto which the rooms face. Other garden seating is provided under the large walnut tree at the end of the property.
Staff are able to work very well with those who have mental health disorders (schizophrenia, OCD, anxiety/depression), bachelor males and those with no family or who lack family contact.
Residents continue their own interests as desired and able including knitting, drawing, Bible study, art class, music. There are many outings such as trips to Akaroa, Orana Park and to the beach.
