Located in Cambridge, Raeburn offers quality of care at least every bit as good as - and quite probably better than - that which you will find in any large urban centre.
A big claim, for sure - but here's why we feel quite comfortable making this promise to you:
1. Raeburn's manager, Jan Hansen, is a registered nurse with 14 years' aged care management experience. She also has countless other years experience in care, including having worked for a DHB, in community health and in acute nursing.
2. Jan is supported by a clinical leader and a core group of eight very experienced registered nurses, one of whom also has experience running a retirement home.
3. Our health care assistants receive significant ongoing training through courses which cover: CPR, first aid, health & safety, clinical topics and dementia and palliative care.
Food
Good food is an important part of anyone's quality of life and the people who live here enjoy meals cooked by an actual chef (who, when not at Raeburn, works in a restaurant and is involved in wedding catering).
You may also find it useful to know that:
- We offer a varied actvities programme
- Access to a physio, podiatrist and clinical nurse specialists is available
- A hairdresser visits and is available once a week
- All of our beds have DHB funding available on them (if you are eligible for a care subsidy)
- We received a good score on our last MoH audit and have a three year accreditation period.
