In fact, a four-step process - in which eight people reviewed 37 elements of dwellings at nine different high-end retirement villages – was used in their design.

Care Available On Site
As well as independent living, Elmwood offers rest home and hospital level care. Our village residents receive priority entry to this, should their health needs change
Elmwood has a contract with the Counties-Manukau DHB to provide these services and, through its owner, is an active member of the NZ Aged Care Association.
On a related note, you are able to transfer your home care in to your new Elmwood villa.
Refurbished Community Centre
The community centre was refurbished late last year and comes with Sky TV, internet, theatre room, library and more.
Village residents enjoy making use of this for all sorts of social occasions.
Shops and Amenities Nearby
The local shops and the Manukau Supa Centre are both within a 5-minute drive.
No More Chores
As part of the weekly service fee; gardening, lawn mowing and general maintenance (regular wear and tear) are all done for you.
And for an additional fee, you can also choose to have your laundry and cleaning done, or buy a meal from Elmwood’s kitchen.
Meals from Elmwood’s kitchen are overseen by a chef. Indeed, you’ll be happy to learn this person is English City & Guilds trained and has 25 years’ experience in the food and hospitality sector.
Credentials
Through its owner Oceania Group, Elmwood Village is a member of the Retirement Villages Association.
For you, this means we follow strict standards and guidelines in terms of how we operate and the service we offer residents.
Membership isn’t necessarily a given – you are audited in order to maintain it and must meet certain standards.
Furthermore, Elmwood is a registered retirement village.
This means a security holder, liquidator or operator can’t dispose of the village as other than a going concern.
The village has a Statutory Supervisor. This person is the residents’ advocate and is appointed to ensure the residents’ interests are protected.
Part of the South Auckland Community since 1981
Elmwood started out in 1981, offering care at first, with the village added in 1987.
So it’s fair to say we are a long-standing part of the South Auckland community.
